Lou Ruvo Brain Institute
Background
The Lou Ruvo Brain Institute [LRBI] seeks to accelerate the discovery of cures for memory disorders and dementia associated with neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Huntington’s, Parkinson’s, ALS and other brain dysfunctions. The specific aim is to foster the development of novel interventions to: a) maintain independent functioning, b) promote ‘Vital Aging’ and, c) enhance the quality of life for an ever-growing number of Nevadans.

Mission Statement
Four words describe our mission—“New Thinking About Thinking.” The Lou Ruvo Brain Institute is turning the scientific world on its head by utilizing a new way to execute research for neurodegenerative brain diseases and to provide enhanced treatment and support to those living with the disease and their caregivers. For the first time, doctors and researchers from different medical specialties will collaborate through a worldwide network of information sharing to develop improved treatment therapies with a common goal to ultimately prevent the onset of these diseases altogether.
